Delirium Tremens: Its Symptoms and Treatments At Bright Future Recovery,
Addiction is a disease that affects people from every walk of life – it doesn’t discriminate. It has a negative impact on those who are addicted, as well as their friends, families, and loved ones. If you are struggling with drugs or alcohol, then you know the challenges that come with addiction. However, you don’t have to live that way any longer, you can get help and learn to live a new, sober life. With the proper treatment and tools, and a willingness to do the work, you can turn your life around.
Typically, the first step to recovery is detoxification (detox). In a detox program, you will be monitored medically as your body rids itself of substances. This is usually a short program but can be longer depending on the substance you used and how long you used them. While in detox, medical professionals will help you stay safe and make it as comfortable for you as possible. The medical supervision is important because some drugs, especially alcohol, can have severe withdrawal symptoms. In fact, abruptly stopping alcohol can result in seizures and even death. That’s why detox is typically recommended before starting an inpatient or outpatient treatment program.
At an inpatient treatment program, you stay onsite, living at the facility, typically for one month to 90 days. On the other hand, with outpatient treatment, you attend the program several days a week for several hours, but you live at home. Usually, inpatient treatment offers the best chances of long-term sobriety and recovery, but outpatient is also effective for some people. It’s important to discuss your options with your doctor or addiction treatment professionals to determine which program will best suit your needs.
Some people decide to travel to a different city or state for drug and alcohol addiction treatment. Doing so can have a number of benefits. If you live in a city or town that doesn’t have a lot of options for treatment, then looking in another location will expand your options, allowing you to find a rehab that better fits your needs.
Traveling for treatment may also play a part in creating a healthy mindset as you start your program. Being someplace different provides some people with a feeling of renewal – like having a clean slate. The physical distance they put between their old life and their healing helps reduce triggers and makes it much more likely that they will complete the program.
Some people feel more comfortable traveling for treatment for added privacy. Unfortunately, there is still a stigma regarding attending rehab. As a result, people in high-profile professions may opt to go to treatment away so they reduce their chances of being recognized while there.
Choosing the right treatment center for your drug or alcohol addiction can seem overwhelming. There is a lot to consider, including:
How much rehab is going to cost is often a big concern for people who want and need to go to addiction treatment. In San Jose, there are a variety of different types of drug and alcohol treatment centers that offer various programs. You can easily find treatment facilities that are very expensive with many amenities, if that is your preference. These addiction centers can cost more than $1,000 per day. However, there are also low-cost and no-cost drug and alcohol rehabs there that have effective programs for getting clean and sober. The cost of rehab will differ based on the type of treatment you choose, any specialized treatments offered, the location, the amenities, and other factors. It’s important to remember that whatever you have to pay for drug treatment, it will be worth it.
In San Jose, most people who attend treatment for substance abuse use their health insurance to cover some or all of the cost. All health insurance providers in California are required to pay at least part of the cost of rehab under behavioral health coverage. How much your health insurance will cover depends upon the specific plan you have. You can call your insurer to see what your benefits will cover.
Some people who go to treatment choose to pay for the program themselves, or with the help of friends or family members. If you can do that, then it is another option for you. If you cannot afford to pay for the total cost out-of-pocket, you can check with the treatment center to see if they will set up a payment plan for you.
If you don’t have any medical insurance, don’t allow that to keep you from seeking help for your substance abuse. There are a lot of options for treatment in San Jose, so that are free or low-cost. If you go this route, you can still find excellent treatment programs. However, you may have to be put on a waiting list to get in. Even if you have to wait, it is a far better option than not going at all.
Additionally, you may consider asking friends or family to help you with the cost of treatment or see if you can obtain a personal loan from your bank for the cost. It’s really important that you get the help you need, and that may mean reaching out for help in different ways. When you begin your new life in recovery though, it will all be worth it.

Make note that we almost always solicit the family’s input prior to starting treatment with a new client – to help us customize his or her recovery plan. We see addiction recovery as a family-wide process, so their involvement is paramount.
We have a 7 to 10 day detox program. Medications are given on a taper system, and dosage is determined by a licensed physician. The length of detox is determined upon by appointment.
